Geothermal energy has the tremendous potential to be a major energy source for our economy, offset anthropogenic carbon emissions, and reduce the environmental impacts of existing energy production technologies. It is still a largely untapped and minimally understood natural resource. Furthermore, geothermal exploration and production are risky, expensive, and challenging endeavors. They demand novel theoretical understandings and exploratory methods that can make geothermal business efficient and attractive for further investments. Regardless of being green and renewable technology, energy production from geothermal resources also can have negative environmental effects. For example, Switzerland recently banned geothermal extraction techniques (so-called enhanced geothermal systems or EGS), which can cause induced seismicity. Fully exploring, investigating, and developing geothermal resources demands novel advanced methods and tools which can revolutionize geothermal research and business. These innovative methods and tools should merge the traditional geothermal exploration techniques (such as Play Fairway Analyses or PFA’s) with the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques
