The final day of the APWA Georgia Chapter Annual Meeting ended with a volunteer sustainability project to install beach fencing to facilitate the restoration of natural sand dunes. This project took place at St. Simons Island beach access #20 and was coordinated by Glynn County Public Works in cooperation with Georgia DNR. These improvements will help address flooding and sand intrusion issues which have been frequently problematic at this location. The heat was intense, but our APWA Georgia volunteers were stronger!!
