π MASS EVICTION β JUNE 1 (STEP UP ON SECOND) ππ¨ still outside
π’ City of Sacramento / Step Up on Second shelter system
This family was part of the mass eviction on June 1, when people were suddenly displaced with nowhere to go.
Now, weeks later, the consequences are still unfolding β with families still pushed into survival on the streets.
π©βπ§βπ¦ A mother and her children β including a 1-year-old baby, a 13-year-old, and a 16-year-old β are now living outside in 101Β° heat βοΈπ
In the photo, if you look closely, there is a potty chair sitting on the sidewalk π½
That detail says everything.
How do you potty train a 1-year-old πΆ when there is no home, no bathroom, no privacy β only pavement, heat, and survival?
This is what displacement looks like in real time. π
Families stripped of basic human conditions, forced to meet a babyβs needs in spaces never meant for living, let alone childhood.
A baby doesnβt stop needing care because a shelter closes.
A mother doesnβt stop trying because there is nowhere left to go.
But no family and no child should ever be placed in this situation. π«
We are urgently trying to get this family into a safe hotel room tonight π¨
We need immediate support:
π¨ Hotel sponsor for emergency placement
π΅ room and basic supplies
π§ Water, food, and heat relief items

Letβs get these οΏΌfamilies indoors and out of the heat. π
No child should be displaced into 101Β° streets. Not ever. πβοΈπΆπ½π§π½π©π½βπ§βπ¦
