Our weekly update from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) was encouraging. Sixty-six mats to station 87 have been placed on the ocean floor. They plan to get to station 110 (110 feet) next week. The transport barge returned to Portland on Thursday to pick up additional mats that will arrive at the work site on Monday or Tuesday. After Mohawk Northeast reaches station 110, the Corps will survey the work (tentatively scheduled for July 13) and by the end of the month we anticipate a green light to start bringing in the rocks. Those rocks will be examined by a Corps Inspector next week as well.

The ACOE plans to work in 100 foot sections. While rocks are being placed in the first section, mats can be placed in the next 100 feet. We should have a good idea of the pace of work soon, but we all know there are many variables, especially in the winter.
