ng, which then serves as a carving pattern on a new linoleum block. Once all the negative space
is carved away, ink, paper, and pressure are all applied to the block. More colors mean more blocks to carve. Sometimes, I digitally tweak
designs to bring the magic out; otherwise, the finished image is 100% handmade. I have been printmaking since 1999, but only began to pursue pottery in 2021. No wonder, then, that most of my pottery bears the marks of printmaking: I gouge and carve; use pigmented, liquidy clay (called slip), and simplified shapes from paper cut-outs. So I guess you could say my pottery is…print-adjacent. And also, you can drink from it!
