Sometimes I just lay in the bed, talk to God, and then listen. Like tonight.

As I reflect on the church service yesterday, a lot of things stand out to me.

What blessed me most is that people gave their lives to Christ. At the end of the day, that's what matters most.

I was also blessed to see how God moved across generations. A young man in the sixth grade came to tell me he enjoyed the message. Later, a 23-year-old shared how much it meant to him. A little girl came up to speak, and another young lady asked if I would come meet her mother.

Her mother is 92 years old.

She slowly stood up, wrapped her arms around me, began to pray in the Holy Spirit, looked me in my eyes, and told me I was beautiful and anointed. I don't think I'll ever forget that moment.

Yesterday reminded me that God is still speaking to the young and the old, and that the Gospel still has the power to reach every generation.

I am so grateful. 💜

Today marks 30 years since I graduated from Hillside High School on Concord Street in Durham, North Carolina. We were the first graduating class of the new Hillside High School, but nothing beats the brick. 💙

The baby on my hip is now 31 years old.

I had no idea when this picture was taken that I would go on to graduate from North Carolina Central University, Shaw University Divinity School, and Howard University Divinity School. My guidance counselor told me that because I had a baby, I would never go to college.

Through my life, I showed my son what was possible.

Thirty years later, God has been faithful.

Class of 1996, Happy 30th Reunion! 💙
