Friends, so many of you have been so kind regarding my run for GA State House 13th district. This has been a very sudden decision and it is truly an act of duty and service on my part. Fist-sized cinders litter the lawns of the houses and churches on my street, which sits two streets over and two streets uphill from the courthouse fire. Had not been for the constant pouring of fire houses on the flames, I fear we would’ve lost the entirety of downtown, including my house. Thank you Rome Fire Department.

Please join the Floyd Dems in recognizing the excellent work of the Rome-Floyd Fire Department and other first responders during the fire that ravaged the historic county courthouse. They protected all of us in the Rome community from an outcome that without their expertise, bravery, and commitment would have been so much more devastating. Bravo!
