Draw and Waitlist emails have been sent for the RWU NY April trial for NW3, L1I and L1C. Due to technical difficulties using gmail, most notifications were "batched" using the Blind CC feature. So if you received an email addressed to someone else, you were blind copied you were on the distribution list...and should have received this email. Of course any questions, DM me please!!!! It was my clunky way of working around a frustrating gmail glitch.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to play with their dogs at our pop-up sniff event! We had over 30 teams participate and join us for lunch—what an incredible day of teamwork and fun. Check out the 2026 celebratory video.
A special thank you to the Elite-CH teams who generously shared their journeys toward this tremendous accomplishment, and to Julie for sharing her knowledge and training expertise on what it takes to be successful in this sport.
We are also so grateful for a trunk full of donations collected for the Hamlin Dog Shelter, along with over $250 in monetary donations shared between the shelter and the fire hall—your generosity truly made an impact.
I couldn’t have pulled this event together without the amazing volunteers who stepped in at the last minute to help run searches. It really does take a village, and I’m so thankful for ours.

Wishing all teams competing this weekend good luck... may your alerts be spot on!
Thank you to everyone who came out to train in Spencerport! I wanted to share some observations from the exterior search, particularly the gazebo hide. This was a challenging placement: the hide was tucked under the railing near the south pillar, with stairs running alongside.
Early in the day, when it was cooler and breezier, most dogs worked the odor quickly. Success often depended on whether the team began clockwise or counterclockwise—so remember the value of searching in both directions.
By the afternoon, conditions shifted. The breeze dropped, the sun flattened the odor, and the scent was less accessible. Some dogs responded by widening their search and even trying to head down the stairs. Teams that started on the stone walkway below often saw their dogs pick up odor from underneath and then pull them back up to source.
This was a great reminder that dogs can problem-solve and catch odor even when starting from below or at a distance—expanding the search area can be the key...even if it means leaving the gazebo.
