On Film
Our mission is threefold:
-To bring rarely-seen and important films from around the world.
-To show films in 16mm or 35mm prints and encourage discussion about the materiality as well as the contents of the films.
-To facilitate informal discussions about these films and offer an opportunity for students, faculties, and the communities to experience the films as an event. By showing diverse set

On Film invites you to attend a 16mm screening of Ken Russell’s provocative film The Devils (1971) on Wednesday, November 9th at 7pm in Dewey Auditorium (Dewey 101-1), sponsored by Film and Media Studies.
Set in 17th century France, the film narrates the true story of Father Urbain Grandier (Oliver Reed), who is publicly accused of witchcraft by a nun (Vanessa Redgrave) who harbors a secret love for the priest. The Devils is a psycho-sexual horror film that features excellent performances from Reed and Redgrave and astonishing set designs by Derek Jarman. As a content warning, please be advised that this film features extreme violence, sexual abuse, and sexual content.

Please join On Film for a screening of Sarah Friedland's Movement Exercises trilogy, presented in collaboration with the Dance and Movement Program and the Art & Art History Department.
