Have 8 minutes? Hear Dr. Allison Stiles, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at URMC, answer these questions about screen time and digital boundaries for kids.
1. Why is it so hard for parents today to set screen time boundaries — and why is it so important that they do?

Many of you have heard that Mr. Tom Golisano has been giving money to children’s hospitals across the country and uniting us. The Golisano Alliance that has formed from this is focused on elevating pediatric care, sharing best practices, and expanding medical services. As the OG hospital (original Golisano), we hosted the other hospitals at a gathering in Rochester this week. As they toured our hospital on Day 1, it was a delight to showcase our Family Connection Program and hear three of our tremendous Family Connection Program volunteers share how they are using their lived experience at our hospital to improve care! Day 2 brought the opportunity to partner with my friend and fellow hospital mom Krystle Ellis to share what receiving care at a Golisano Children’s Hospital is like and how partnering with families to improve care and access is something all of our Alliance partners should be doing. I love doing this work!… but now, a few days off for some rest and relaxation.
