Anxiety- We all feel anxious sometimes, but did you know that anxiety is one of the most common mental disorders in the U.S. and affects approx. 25% of all teens and 13% of adult population of the U.S.? According to the Mayoclinic.com "Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).
These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time"
It seems like these numbers are only increasing in today's society an the pandemic issues have not helped.
Anxiety is a part of life unfortunately. We need the tools, assistance and understanding to deal with anxiety and that is ok, healthy and admirable. More and more celebrities, executives and moguls are seeking assistance in their mental health and you can too. Mental health is important, our physical health is entwined with our emotional health and it should not be ignored.
