The best of music is meant to make us feel something.

Be it joy, confidence, anger, sadness.. the very things that remind us we’re human in this increasingly synthetic world.

There isn’t a more universally human experience than the loss of a loved one, and with that loss, the feelings that we each process in our own ways as we try to pick up the pieces and carry on.

On this next song, Ren really took me into his world musically.

As much as I’ve really found and experimented with my singing voice over the past several years, I know my limitations. Ren pushed me to step past those limitations.

While him and JP (whose production here is immaculate), carry the bulk of the weight on this one, I was happy to tag along on the very first ballad I’ve ever been apart of.

With that said, I carried my weight in a different way by mobilizing the entire might of the Webby visual team to bring you a music video that turned out feeling more like a short film.

No corners were cut, no expenses spared, and finally seeing the final product, I’m damn proud of what we put together.

I showed it to a group of friends the other night and two girls actually left the room crying.

Like I said in the beginning of this caption, the best of music is meant to make us feel something.

And is here to help bring the human element back into music.
