Let’s talk about sleep and muscle growth😴
Getting in anything less than 7 hours will noticeably decrease protein synthesis and increase the activity of degradation pathways, which will in turn, cause muscle loss
Your job, lifestyle, or responsibilities may prevent you from getting enough sleep. But here are a few ways for you to be sure to wake up rested and strong.
1️⃣ Stay off your phone before bed. The blue light from your phone screen causes less melatonin to be released in the brain. Causing acute insomnia.
2️⃣ Don’t eat for a few hours before going to bed. Digestion is a very metabolically demanding activity that can prevent some from catching Zs
3️⃣ Stop drinking caffeine past noon. Caffeine has a half-life of about eight hours for most. So that extra cup of coffee that you had around 3 PM could still leave trace amounts of caffeine in the brain when it’s time to go to bed. This will either cause problems falling asleep or disrupt your sleep quality.
