May 17-23, 2026 is EMS Week! Initiated in 1974 by President Gerald Ford, EMS Week recognizes the tireless efforts, accomplishments, and lives saved by EMS professionals.

Take a moment to thank your friendly local EMS worker! (In Redmond that is your RFD firefighters and paramedics, with backup from our friends at TriMed!)

National Hoarding Awareness Week is May 11 - 15

Take a moment and consider the tidiness of your spaces. Aside from obstructing routes of egress in case of an emergency, clutter adds to the fire load, significantly worsening fire outcomes.

EMTG Academy Class 20 is well underway. Here is a glimpse of Tech Rescue Awareness Day. Several Redmond recruits shown here learned the basics of building an anchor for rope rescue operations. While a great deal of additional training is required to become a qualified rope rescue technician, even our newest firefighters have a role to play during complex rescue calls.
