elt handbags made one at a time in my studio space. It all started when I discovered this gorgeous, thick, soft and colorful wool felt in the years we lived in Germany. I’d spent a lifetime sewing clothes and later costumes, and then took an about face, using a completely new material, and started a business. As my small business begins to grow, I include and experiment with a greater variety of work, from small pouches to larger totes. At the heart of it all are the small pouches, embroidered in a sort of free-hand style I use on 2 of my 4 sewing machines: I sketch with the machine.
