Here’s some startling news… Tin Pan’s Antalya run has come to a sudden end.

Many have told me that the tourism industry in Antalya is suffering this year and the hotels were looking for any excuse to cut costs. Most acts here are trios, DJ’s or soloists who play with backing tracks. A five piece band is a big expense so it would seem that we were on the chopping block. Over the last month our six nights per week engagements turned into five and then four and as of this morning, two more have cancelled on us.

To the say the least, this is very disappointing.

The contracts with these hotels are frustratingly one-sided in that they can come up with just about any excuse to let a musical act go. They can just claim customer dissatisfaction or that a customer complained about something and they have cause for dismissal.

I had a meeting with our agent this morning and we were reassured that this was not our fault and we did the best we could do. We all quite saddened by this. To be fair, our personnel issues and revolving cast of subs made it difficult to ever find a confident groove for the band and it is quite hard not to take something like this personally. A special shout out to and his experience, loyalty and talents, without which this project would not have been as rewarding or successful. And also to and . Together with Caner we had a remarkably chill time as roommates and compatriots.

What’s next for Tin Pan? . . . I will be moving to Dubai and hope to reform the band there. Please stay tuned as it might take a few months for me to get a crew together and get work for us.
