Every day, many times a day I walk past this lovely painting by Terry Wofford. I met her at a writer’s meeting in Prescott when I was seeking folks to write short pieces for performance on the subject of Climate Change. She approached me at the end of the meeting asking if I would be interested in visual art. “Yes!”, I replied instantly.
In her home she shared many of her paintings with me but specifically asked if I were interested in Adrift. At the time it was untitled and we brainstormed in front of it landing on the word Adrift. She gave me permission to use the image in my project, Climate Change and the Arts. Upon her untimely death before we developed a deeper friendship, she bequeathed this painting to me. It is both a joy and honor to have it hanging in my home. But it is a responsibility to be a good steward of it.
Alas the pandemic hit before I could follow through on the climate change project. Someday Terry...
