The 2013 NY Red Sox finished the regular season 19-5 with the #2 seed for the HVNABA playoffs. The Sox got off to a slow 4-4 start before going on a tear for the majority of the season, finishing with a 19-5
record. In the first round of the playoffs, the Red Sox took on NL Division rival Rays team and took 2 out of 3 in a tough, tense series that came down to the final batter. The Red Sox continued on to face the defending champion Black Sox in the NLCS. The Red Sox came out swinging and never looked back. Along with outstanding pitching by NL Cy Young Award Winner Brennan Debrosky and manager Erik Kantner, the Red Sox would go on to sweep the series 2-0 to move on to the HVNABA Championship against the powerhouse Mariners. Red Sox pitching again was outstanding, but the bats went quiet and the Red Sox lost two close, hard fought games, ending the season on a down note. The season was a great success, as this team was playing its first season together. Some key additions have been made to an already stellar roster and the Red Sox hope to win it all in the 2014 season. The NY Red Sox finished the 2012 season in 3rd place in our division with a 13-11 record which was good enough to qualify for the HVNABA postseason. Unfortunately The Red Sox were swept out of the quarterfinals 2-0 by the eventual league champion NY Black Sox. This year the Red Sox revamped their roster through a merger with the now defunct Poughkeepsie Braves that saw a large portion of the Braves core players join the Sox. The merger has rejuvenated the Red Sox as they appear poised for bigger and better things for the upcoming season.
