Established in 2013, the Misophonia Association’s mission is to empower the misophonia community with education, advocacy, research, and support, with the long-term goal of finding a cure. We are here to help those who suffer from misophonia, their families, and medical providers, to recognize, support, and spread the word about the condition, to spark research, to gather force to make things happen for everyone.

Misophonia at University Survey 05/18/2026

A new study

** Opportunity to take part in Misophonia Research **

Good morning, my name is Megan Bailey. I am currently a master’s student at the University of Sheffield. I am conducting a research study to understand the impacts of Misophonia on university experiences.

There are two aspects to my study:

1. A survey (link below) which will help me to look at whether or not Misophonia has an overall positive/negative impact on University experience. (approx. 10 minutes)

2. Interviews that shall explore personal experiences of navigating Misophonia at University (approx. 1 hour)

I would very much appreciate it if you could take the time to fill out the survey. Upon completion, you will be entered into a prize draw to earn one of five £20 Amazon vouchers. Any past/current university student can take part. You do not need to have Misophonia to fill out this survey, so friends and family of sufferers are welcome to fill this out!

If you should like to also volunteer for an online interview or would like more information about what it would entail, please contact myself directly or leave a comment on this post so I can contact you. As a thank you for participating, you will be sent a £15 amazon voucher upon completion of the interview. To take part in the interviews, you must be a past/current university student with a self-diagnosis of Misophonia.

Misophonia at University Survey You are being invited to participate in a research study titled: Navigating Misophonia at University: A mixed-methods exploration of how Misophonia impacts university experiences.
