From the sacred pond of existence, our mortal kaleidoscopic dreams ripple across the surface. We weave tales of love and loss, triumphs and setbacks, echoing the perpetual cycle of creation and dissolution.

Another playful, woodland creatures themed painting for my kids’ room. Of course had to add my psychedelic butterflies.

A small drawing of my wife from September 2023, made in Ravello, Italy, where I proposed to her at Villa Cimbrone. During that trip, knowing what I was about to propose to her, I thought about her and our future life constantly. Drawing her became the only way I knew how to hold that feeling and make it tangible.

It’s the smallest peak at the officially licensed alternative movie poster of: “DUNE 1984” by David Lynch () made possible by and , featuring . An honoring of the original DUNE movie leading up to the release of the much anticipated DUNE 3 in 2026.

One of the reasons I was drawn to working on this movie poster was how relevant it felt within the current political climate. I kept hearing Frank Herbert’s words in my head:

“I wrote the Dune series because I had this idea that charismatic leaders ought to come with a warning label on their forehead: “May be dangerous to your health.” In short: “Power attracts the corruptible”.

Given the state of things today, it feels as though many people have forgotten how deceptive leaders can be, how easily they frame their agendas as being “for the people,” much like Paul Atreides did for the Fremen. In reality, there is often a hidden personal agenda that is not in the best interest of those they claim to serve. The intensity Paul carries through his presence is something I hoped to communicate with this poster. I’ve also come to recognize that I’m inherently skeptical of all political leaders, a perspective shaped by growing up in the Balkans and witnessing firsthand how corruptible leaders can be.

Additionally, Paul’s connection to spice feels reminiscent of how many Westerners have turned to ancient psychedelic plant medicines in pursuit of enlightenment or deeper self-awareness. Too often, these powerful substances can distort perception, leading individuals to believe they are messianic figures destined to guide others toward salvation or a new way of life. History has shown us, time and again, how that story tends to end.

Special thanks to the current Mondo Creative Director Nolan Fleming , as well as the former Mondo A.D. Josh and the color separation wizard Jon for working with my super busy life to offer a lot of flexibility to make this poster happen.
