Jefferson Dancers trip to New York 2026!!
Our company had the opportunity to tour colleges, take dance classes, watch shows, and explore the city. We had so much fun in the concrete jungle!!
16/03/2026
On the eve of our trip to New York, we can’t help but look back on the 49 iterations of this company that came before us. Each one slightly different, each with their own talents and works and dreams. This company is much bigger than each individual who’s danced within it, yet each and every one of us have helped write this company’s legacy. New York City is a fitting destination for this year’s tour, then, as the same things can be said about this place, too.
We cannot wait to be inspired by the artists in the city that never sleeps. Join us tomorrow as we fly to New York City!

Today’s dancer of the day is Piper Bott - 2 days until our trip to New York! 🪩🗽
Piper is an eighteen-year-old senior, and this is her fourth year with the company. She started performing at the age of eight, learning to twirl a baton under the instruction of Shannon Barker at Stites Performing Arts Center. By the age of ten, she was learning at Portland Metro Arts. There, her love of dance grew, and she decided to take ballet and jazz classes at Stites, studying with Amy Bonaduce Gardner. Simultaneously, she studied aerial arts at Echo Theater with various instructors. She was accepted into the Youth Performance Ensemble, the TikToks, where she was a member for two years before deciding to focus more exclusively on dance. After several years of both online and in-person jazz and ballet, she added contemporary, hip-hop, and gymnastics to her schedule. She has performed at various venues across Portland, including the Festival of the Trees, the Junior Rose Parade, the Echo Theater Company, and the University of Portland. She has also attended various summer intensives such as the NW Summer Dance Platform and the Ruth Page International Experience. Dance is a very important part of Piper’s life, and becoming a Jefferson Dancer is a dream come true! She would like to thank her amazing support system at home and all of her teachers who consistently encouraged and pushed her to grow and improve.
