A gas station and a bank located downtown also serve the borough. A large percentage of the borough's homes were constructed in the late 1800's or early 1900's with a variety of historic Victorian era style houses scattered throughout the borough. There is a park-and-walk lot located central to downtown for those who would like to visit the borough and venture out onto the pedestrian bridge. It's well worth the time to take in the spectacular view of the Delaware Water Gap which is only a few miles up the river from Portland.
