Time for a #flashbackfriday highlighting previous @OPB reporting. Last year, Portland tattooers @obritztattoos and @the_noble_mountain started the @voidtattoofest with the hopes of putting #tattoo conventions back in the hands of artists—giving a space for people not only come and get tattooed, but also for the artist’s themselves to gain much needed accreditation hours. @mortalemblem’s Olivia Britz-Wheat explained that tattooers in Oregon need 10 hours of continuing education credits to renew their license every year, and that can be hard to come by. “There’s very few seminars that come up, so it’s up to us to put them on for our community,” she said. The 2025 Void Tattoo Fest brought more than 150 artists to the Jupiter Hotel in Portland and this weekend will do the same.
