"I never thought I'd see this day."

Christine's journey through her son Ellis's addiction was filled with fear, guilt, and heartbreak. When she found The Family Restored, she discovered support for herself.

Through Family Support Groups, Family Peer Coaching, our Annual Family Retreat, and a Treatment Scholarship, Christine and Ellis each found the help they needed on their own paths. Christine learned she wasn't alone, and Ellis found the foundation he needed to build a life in recovery.

Today, they're sharing their story and remind us that healing is possible, hope is real, and no one has to walk this journey alone.

Thank you, Christine and Ellis, for trusting us to be part of your family's journey and for sharing it with our community. 💚

Educational Series: Supporting a Loved One with a Dual Diagnosis 07/09/2026

We sincerely apologize for the Wednesday Virtual Meeting not taking place last night. The cancellation was unexpected, and we were unable to notify the community in advance, which we typically announce via email and social media.

The Thursday virtual meeting will take place tonight, and we also have our educational workshop coming up on Monday to further support your journey. 💚

Educational Series: Supporting a Loved One with a Dual Diagnosis 07/06/2026

One week from today – join us on Zoom at 6pm on Monday, July 13th! The next topic in The Family Restored's Educational Series will be focused on understanding how to effectively support a loved one living with a dual diagnosis.

Participants will gain insight into the unique challenges of dual diagnosis, learn practical communication strategies, explore ways to reduce enabling behaviors, and identify healthy coping skills for themselves while finding the balance between offering support, setting healthy boundaries, and encouraging recovery.

The workshop provides a safe space for questions and discussion while emphasizing compassion, understanding, and hope.

Melissa White, LCPC, CADC, CCS, is the Clinical Director of Bishop Health's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). With more than 17 years of experience in behavioral health and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Melissa specializes in treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
