Thank you for the happy birthday wishes, everyone. As much flack as social media and FB in general get, it is always nice to hear from friends and family through this portal, and to be able to keep up on what's happening in your lives. As is often said, it's been a year. Many great trips to fun places like Italy and Germany, but also the heartbreak of watching my mom slowly fade away from Alzheimer's. Fortunately, she and Doc are now in a new home with good care for them both, but it is still very difficult for me to watch her be slowly robbed of her faculties, memories and experiences. All I can do now it try to be with her in the moment. Thank you again and keep filling up your life with great experiences and the love of family and friends. I am so thankful for Savannah and Liam (and Cosmos), and for you all.

Wow, did we ever luck out! Heavy clouds all morning, so I figured it was a bust for seeing totality. But an hour before, the clouds broke up, and when the moment came: Clear skies!! Another amazing eclipse experience (personal score: 3 and counting!) and so happy that Savannah and our hosts in Dallas, Angela and John, were able to experience it. Amazing!!

I carefully scouted the many fir tree treetop heights on a recent real estate drone shoot.
