SNAKE BITE

So for those who haven’t figured it out yet, I am currently building the original Snake Bite truck on the Bigfoot #4 chassis to celebrate its 35th Anniversary. More importantly, this build is meant to also pay tribute to Gene Patterson/Colt Cobra who is batting a serious health issue.

My step-dad and I had snuck into the Pontiac Silverdome in February of 1988. I was, and still am, a Bigfoot ju**ie. Gene was Jim Kramer’s crew guy at the time with Bigfoot #6 and he let me sit in the driver’s seat. Gene has been a hero of mine ever since and I’m fortunate enough today to call him friend.

I am not trying to reinvent the wheel here. There are a few fine builds out there of the original and so I only hope to be on par with those. Where I hope to improve is in the paint department. I’ve not yet seen one that has been airbrushed and so that’s where I hope to “crush” this build. Paint is gonna be a challenge but I feel like I’m up to it.

My goal is to have it completed in time to reveal it publicly at the Hall Of Fame Banquet in November. 🤞🤘👊

So, I took a little hiatus over the July 4th holiday but I sat down this afternoon for a little bench therapy. I think at this point I’ll likely just add the front support/frame bars and then move onto the suspension and then come back. I like where it’s heading though.
