This Wednesday, we had the opportunity to bring all of our amazing summer interns together at the State House, and it was such a fun day!
Donna and I are so lucky to have Adam, Maame, Nic, Stella, Annabelle, Shea, and Francois on Team 1st Plymouth this summer. They spent the day filming a video (stay tuned next weekβyou won't want to miss it!), attending legislative briefings, brainstorming projects over lunch, touring the State House, and watching part of formal session.
These interns are incredibly bright, hardworking, and fun to be around, and they have already made such a positive impact on our office. We are grateful for all of their hard work and can't wait to see what they accomplish this summer!
If you missed their introductions, scroll through our social posts to learn more about each of our fantastic interns! π
Another busy week in Plymouth and at the State House! βοΈ

π Meet the Summer Interns for Team 1st Plymouth! π
Our next amazing intern is Stella Reid! π
Stella is a rising high school sophomore with a passion for public service and a desire to learn more about how she can make a positive difference in her community. As a former Plymouth resident, she is excited to spend part of her summer giving back to a community she loves.
Although Stella will be with us for a short time this summer, we are thrilled to have her on Team 1st Plymouth and to get to know her better! She is eager to learn about the legislative process, attend briefings, and help support the work our office does every day for the residents of the 1st Plymouth District.
Please join me in giving Stella a warm welcome to Team 1st Plymouth! π
Stay tunedβthere are still more amazing interns to meet!

βοΈ Great news for Plymouth! βοΈ
I know it has been VERY HOT and no one want to think about snow but last month, the House passed a supplemental budget that included $159 million to help communities across Massachusetts recover from the extraordinary costs of ourhistoric winter.
I'm thrilled to share that Plymouth will receive $626,495 to help offset the unexpected expenses our town incurred from snow removal and storm response. Like many communities across the Commonwealth, Plymouth wasn't planning for the amount of snow we receivedβespecially during that massive storm that had our schools closed for a whole weekβand these funds will help ease that financial burden.
This funding is about supporting our local communities after an incredibly challenging winter!

βοΈπΈ When the temperatures rise, there's no better place to cool off than the Frog Pond!
Last week, Team 1st Plymouth's summer intern, Annabelle, took a break from the heat and stopped by the opening of the Frog Pond. She had a blast cooling down with an ice cream and putting her feet in the Frog pond!
Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and cool summerβwe hope you're finding time to enjoy the splash pad, the ponds, and the oceans all around Plymouth and when you are in Boston check out the Frog Pond! π¦π

Last week, it was a pleasure to welcome members of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development to Plymouth to showcase everything our incredible community has to offer visitors from across the Commonwealth, the country, and around the world.
Together, we visited some of Plymouth's iconic destinations, including the Forefathers Monument,Plimoth Patuxet Museums, the Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock, the Spire Center for Performing Arts, and the Pilgrim Belle, while highlighting so many other places that make our town such a special place for people on vacation, day trip, or a great place to grab a meal with friends.
We are so fortunate to call Plymouth home, and I was proud to share its rich history, vibrant arts and culture, and thriving tourism economy with my colleagues.
A special thank you to See Plymouth for coordinating such a wonderful visit and for the Joint Committee members to take the time to experience all that Plymouth has to offer!

What an incredible Fourth of July! πΊπΈ
We had an absolute blast walking (and sometimes running! π) in yesterday's Fourth of July Parade!
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, families, friends, and neighbors lining the parade route. Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and shouted words of encouragement along the way. Your support truly means so much, and seeing our community come together is one of the best parts of serving as your State Representative.
As we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America, we're reminded of the values that have brought us together for generations and the bright future we continue to build together. It was a special day to celebrate our nation's history, America's Hometown, and the incredible community that makes Plymouth such a wonderful place to call home.
A heartfelt thank you to the July 4 Plymouth Committee for the countless hours of planning, coordinating, and hard work that go into making this celebration possible year after year. Your dedication creates lasting memories for residents and visitors alike, and we are so grateful for everything you do.
We hope everyone is enjoying a safe, fun, and memorable Independence Day weekend! β€οΈπ€π
