Attention Photographers:
I'm very excited to announce a portrait workshop that will be happening in 2026.
Those who know me are aware that I don't offer very many photographic workshops- but the chance to partner with my buddy PG was too much to pass up.
We are limiting this to a VERY small group, so let me know if you are interested. It is going to be absolutely epic so don't miss it.

The latest addition to my ONE Portrait Project- Zoe Martin and her bracelet.
Here is Zoe's story:
******
In the face of unimaginable grief, this bracelet has become a source of comfort. It's a constant reminder of my sister, Kristina’s, strength and unwavering spirit. When I look at it, I see not just a piece of jewelry, but a reflection of the incredible woman she was.
Kristina's diagnosis at 35 was a shock. She was an athlete who ran marathons, she seemed the picture of health. Yet, a seemingly insignificant lump turned into a fight for her life.
Her daughter, then just starting high school, became her driving force. Kristina wasn't about to give up. She battled cancer with an unmatched ferocity. Brutal treatments like chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy became her reality, but her dedication to her daughter never wavered. She supported her through schoolwork, swim meets, and gymnastics, all while battling a war within her own body.
A teacher who inspired her students, Kristina was awarded a Lamp Lighter and an LISD Teacher of the Year. Even scheduling doctor's appointments revolved around minimizing disruptions for her students. Through it all, her smile and laughter never faltered. She was, quite simply, my hero.
When she lost her battle, I was by her side. She left behind a void no one could fill, but also a precious token - a James Avery bracelet she wore daily. The bracelet has a breast cancer charm and simply reads "Mama." My brother-in-law and her only child entrusted this bracelet to me. It has been a source of comfort as well as a constant reminder of the incredible woman she was.
This bracelet isn't just a piece of jewelry; it's a tangible connection to my sister. It's the warmth of her embrace, the echo of her laughter. It's the strength she embodied and the unwavering love for her daughter that fueled her fight. It's a daily reminder to face challenges head-on, to find joy in hardship, and to cherish the moments we have with loved ones.
Kristina may be gone, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. And for me, it lives on in the simple bracelet that adorns my wrist. It's more than a bracelet; it's a love that I will cherish as long as I live.

"Mark's Reindeer"
The latest addition to my ONE Project - this one featuring PPA President Mark Campbell and his reindeer. Here is Mark's story in his own words:
********
My dad was, among other things, an accomplished woodworker. He created many things in his small, basement shop over the years from jewelry boxes to hunting chests to yard decorations.
When he passed away, my brothers and I went through his creations and remaining tools (he had voluntarily stopped making these items a number of years before he died over concerns that he might accidentally hurt himself out of carelessness as he got older) and each took a few things in order to help remember him.
I had actually forgotten about this particular item until I went looking for something that would be meaningful, yet small enough to take on a plane as I live in West Virginia. It’s a small,
very intricate reindeer that he fashioned in 1990. I know this because it not only has his name burned into the bottom of the base, but also the year he made it. Regretfully, he didn’t always
put the year on his creations, but in this case, he did.
What makes this item special, in addition to his name and date on the bottom, is that the reindeer has a piece of yarn around its neck which holds a tiny beer can! My dad LOVED his beer – a taste that I never acquired. In fact, he loved it so much he once bought an old refrigerator and put it in the basement, drilled a hole in the side for a tap, took out all the shelves and installed a keg. The day he got it up and running we got a call from a neighbor asking if there was something wrong with our electricity because they noticed that our basement light kept going on and off regularly. It was my dad, headed downstairs to refill his
beer glass!
I’m not really the type of person who has strong, emotional connections to objects, but seeing his pieces around my house still always brings a smile to my face and makes me realize just how much I learned from him. While I never followed in his footsteps as far as woodworking is concerned, I do love DIY projects around the house and working with him as a child while he remodeled older homes in the neighborhood taught me many of those skills.
