In 2004, Laura's mom passed away from cancer. As you can imagine, it was a difficult time in our family's lives. Through the difficulty, music played a significant role in helping comfort and heal us. Specifically, Mark Schultz music made a significant impact on all of our lives.

His music has continued to impact us deeply to this day. If you've never listened to Mark's music, I can't encourage you enough to check him out. In my opinion, he's one of the greatest songwriters/storytellers on the planet.

Laura and I had the opportunity to meet him at an event last fall and that led to me being able to have a conversation with him for the podcast. It was an honor to be able to inform him of the impact he's made on our family's lives and to get to laugh (he's hilarious) and learn from him.
