What a way to close out the year! π
Our End of Year Breakfast brought staff together one last time before summer to share a meal, recognize outstanding service, and say thank you in the way our Bearcats deserve. We honored staff across the district with 5, 10, and 25-year service awards, a powerful reminder of the dedication and longevity that defines this team.
And to our retirees β thank you doesn't begin to cover it.

We are so proud of this team. What an honor it is to work alongside each and every one of you. πΎ

π§‘π€ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Jessica Hopson! π€π§‘
We are thrilled to introduce Jessica Hopson, joining us as an Educational Diagnostician in the SPED Department! π
Jessica was born in Maine but has been a Texan since she was 6 weeks old, so basically, she's one of us through and through. π€ She brings an impressive academic background: undergraduate from Texas A&M, Master's from UNT, and her Principal Certification from Lamar University.
And her "why education" story? It started early: "I played teacher as a child and it was one of the different things I wanted to be when I grew up. As I was in college it became clear that teaching is what I wanted to do. I love working with children and helping them grow!" Some people are just born for this. π₯Ή
On why Pilot Point: "My husband and I want to be in a smaller town, and I am looking for opportunities to grow in my knowledge and career." Small town, big opportunities β that's exactly what we're building here.
And what excites her most? "The opportunities to make a difference in my role, help students grow to their potential, and support families."
Outside of work, Jessica loves spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and working on puzzles. π§©π¬ We respect someone who can commit to a 1,000-piecer.
She left us with this: "I am so excited to be a part of the growing community and can't wait to get started!"
Jessica, we cannot wait either. Welcome to Pilot Point, Jessica! πΎ

π§‘π€ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Jordan Knapp! π€π§‘
We are so excited to officially welcome Jordan Knapp, joining us as an Educational Diagnostician in the SPED Department! π
Jordan grew up in Aubrey, earned her Bachelor's from TWU and her Master's from Midwestern State University β and if she looks familiar, that's because she basically already is one of us. Jordan has been serving Pilot Point students and families for the last 9 years through DCSEC, and when it came time to make a move, there was never really a question about where she wanted to land: "I love this district so much. I love working with the students, staff and families and feel very invested in Pilot Point ISD."
Nine years of investment, and she's just getting started. π₯Ή
Jordan felt called to special education and is passionate about what this next chapter holds: "I'm excited to support our new special education department and continue working with the students, families and staff members I have enjoyed working with for the last nine years."
Outside of work, Jordan loves spending time with her family, reading, and cooking. ππ³ And her fun fact? Her younger brother also works in PPISD β making this a true family affair! π§‘
She left us with this: "It is a privilege to work alongside dedicated educators and supportive families to help students grow and succeed."
Jordan, we are so grateful you're officially, fully, completely OURS. Welcome home! πΎπ§‘

π§‘π€ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Shelley Walton! π€π§‘
We are so excited to welcome Shelley Walton, joining us as our Speech Language Pathologist at the Elementary campus! π£οΈπ
Shelley comes to us from El Paso and brings some serious academic firepower β a BA and MA from UNT and a Doctorate from Northwestern University.
On why she chose education, she kept it warm and simple: "The opportunity to help a student in their educational journey makes me happy!"
And why PPISD? "The atmosphere of community and collaboration, all for student and family benefit, is why I'm excited to join PPISD!"
Shelley is especially fired up to be part of something bigger:
"I'm excited to be part of developing the PPISD Special Education department and the amazing things happening in PPISD!"
We love having people who want to help build, not just join. π
Outside of work, Shelley is a dedicated sports mom who loves every single minute of cheering her kids on β and when she's not in the bleachers, you'll find her with her nose in a good book. π
And her fun fact? She is the 3rd Speech Language Pathologist in her family. Some families pass down recipes. The Waltons pass down a gift for helping people find their voice. π₯Ή
"I can't wait to meet the students and families and dive into this journey together!"
Welcome to Pilot Point, Shelley. We are so glad you're here! πΎπ§‘π€

π§‘π€ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Jessie Forrest! π€π§‘
We are absolutely thrilled to introduce Jessie Forrest, joining us as a Kindergarten Teacher at the ECC! πβ¨
Jessie comes to us from Frisco and brings an impressive academic background β Hardin-Simmons University for her undergrad and UTD for grad school. But what really drives her shows up the moment she talks about her kids: "I love seeing them as they enter my class as new Kindergartners and then watching them change, learn, and grow so much before they leave my class as big 1st graders on their way to greatness!"
If that doesn't make you want to be in her class, we don't know what will.
On why she chose Pilot Point:
"I want to teach somewhere that still has a small-town, family feel and where I can have a chance to teach and grow!"
She also wants everyone to know she is already psyched to watch Bearcat football and softball. ππ₯
Outside of work, Jessie is auntie to four adorable nephews β Oliver, Graham, and twins Rowan and Porter πΆπΆ β and devoted dog mom to her goldendoodle Diggs. πΎ When she's not wrangling kids and dogs, you'll find her relaxing poolside. She has earned it.
Her fun fact: While at Hardin-Simmons, Jessie was a cowgirl on the Six White Horses rodeo drill team β traveling all over Texas riding in parades and performing opening ceremonies at rodeos across the state. π Oh, and she once won a greased pig chase. π· We have absolutely no follow-up questions. She is perfect and we are so glad she's here.
"I already love being a part of the Pilot Point community! I have felt so welcomed and valued from the very beginning and I couldn't be more thankful!"
Welcome home, Jessie. The Bearcat family is SO glad you're ours! π§‘π€πΎ
