π A Leaning Post Acres Update π
We've been getting a lot of questions about when we'll begin farm programs, field trips, and homeschool activities, so we wanted to share an update.
After a lot of thought, we've decided to spend the summer focusing on building Leaning Post Acres instead of rushing to open during the Arizona heat.
Our vision has always been bigger than a petting zoo. We are creating a place where families can connect with animals, learn homesteading skills, explore agriculture, and make meaningful memories together.
This summer we'll be busy:
π¨ Finishing the classroom and casita renovations
π Developing homeschool lessons, activities, and student workbooks
π Improving animal areas and educational stations
π± Building gardens and hands-on learning spaces
β€οΈ Creating a clean, safe, welcoming environment for visitors
We believe first impressions matter, and we want to open when we can provide the experience our community deserves.
The good news? We aren't disappearing!
π₯ Farm fresh eggs are still available.
π₯ Goat milk is still available.
π We'll continue sharing daily farm life, animal updates, educational content, and behind-the-scenes progress as we build.
Our goal is to welcome families, homeschool groups, and visitors for our Fall 2026 opening.
Thank you for supporting our dream, cheering us on, and following this journey from the beginning. Watching Leaning Post Acres grow has been just as special for us as we hope it will be for you.
Good things take time. πΏ

Itβs true. Seeing cows never gets old. I must wave and sometimes moo at them

Baby Hunter is testing the water play at the farm before we open. The grass area is perfect for water play and gatherings. Itβs all about peaceful moments, and time to explore.
Children learn best by doing and having the space to connect in a relaxed environment.
He approves!

π₯ June is Dairy Month... but did you know dairy doesn't just come from cows?
At Leaning Post Acres, our dairy stars are goats! π
Goat milk has been consumed around the world for thousands of years and is one of the most widely consumed dairy products on the planet.
A few fun dairy goat facts:
π A healthy dairy doe can produce milk for 8β10 months after having kids.
π₯ Goat milk naturally contains smaller fat globules than cow milk, which is one reason some people find it easier to digest.
π More families worldwide drink goat milk than any other type of milk.
πΌ Dairy goats have been providing milk, cheese, soap ingredients, and other products for homesteads for generations.
π A dairy goat's udder can hold several pounds of milk, and some high-producing does can make over a gallon of milk per day!
One of our favorite things about dairy goats is how intelligent and personable they are. They aren't just livestockβthey become part of the family. Many of our goats know their names, come running when called, and happily follow us around the farm looking for snacks and attention.
This Dairy Month, take a moment to appreciate the animals that help feed families, teach valuable homesteading skills, and connect us to where our food comes from.
Have you ever milked a goat or tried goat milk products? Tell us below! πππ₯

The moon is beautiful tonight and I got a great picture of it coming over the mountains and the horse corrals.
