Another said Truist “and the company.”

I assumed they were lying.

Turns out—they were telling the truth. Just not the whole truth.

I didn’t understand what “the company” meant at the time.

When you call Wells Fargo customer service, you’re often not speaking directly to Wells Fargo. You’re speaking to an employee at a massive outsourcing firm—companies like Teleperformance, Concentrix, Cognizant, or Alorica.

These companies employ 300,000 to over 400,000 people, operate in 70–90 countries, and handle customer service for nearly every major bank you can think of.

Same infrastructure.
Same systems.
Same access.

My scammer worked at the company that handles Wells Fargo calls.
He had real access.
Real scripts.
Real verification procedures.

He wasn’t lying about working with Wells Fargo.
He just didn’t mention he was abusing that access to scam people on the side.
