Just go do the activity. Don’t overthink it.
A reminder for every dad carrying a lot right now:
Go do something fun with your kids.
Not because it’s productive.
Not because it’s educational.
Not because someone on the internet said you should.
Because sometimes the fastest way to get out of your own head is to get into their world.
The activity doesn’t matter.
The memory does.
And years from now, your kids won’t remember how busy you were.
They’ll remember how often you showed up.
I thought becoming a dad meant teaching my son how to live life.
But over the last 8 years… he’s taught me just as much.
He taught me patience.
How to love deeper.
How to slow down.
How to show up.
How to become the kind of man my family deserves.
Happy 8th birthday, buddy.
You’ll never fully understand how much your life changed mine for the better.
Your family notices your attention more than your availability.

Bruises and a broken body to pull off trick shots…worth it every time.
The kids will remember dad goes all in with them…but also I can’t let these kids think they can beat me yet.
Being a dad isn’t supposed to mean putting your growth on hold.
Somewhere between work, responsibilities, and taking care of everyone else, a lot of us stop doing hard things for ourselves.
That’s why challenges matter.
It doesn’t have to be Murph.
It doesn’t have to be running.
It doesn’t even have to be fitness.
Find something that pushes you.
Find a few other dads willing to do it with you.
Commit.
Show up.
Finish what you start.
The challenge isn’t really about the event.
It’s about becoming the kind of man your kids watch and think:
“When things get hard, Dad doesn’t quit.”
Tag a dad who needs a challenge on the calendar.
Save this for the next chaotic bedtime.
If you jump straight out of your car and roll into the house, it’s hard to shift from the stress of the day and into family mode.
This is a part of my routine now. Anytime I set foot into my house, even if it’s the weekend, I try and reset my mental clarity and the time I walk in with.
Try it out if you don’t already
