Carpe Viam

Here’s the first of several new designs for the holidays this year, and the first ever holiday design to print in-house at the new Carpe Viam print shop.

My original concept for the design was simply an enormous tree being hauled on a transporter, which would be novel enough. But as I sketched, I fell in love with the idea of the tree being hauled by the iconic Le Mans-winning Porsche SL, which is in turn, being hauled by a Dove blue transporter.

Look closely and you’ll even see the silhouette of one “Mr. Claus” behind the wheel handling the delivery of this epic combo of holiday cheer from Stuttgart (and Gmünd).

I have just one original 250 GTO gesture sketch available in the shop. It’s one of my early explorations for the art for the Hagerty stock certificates. A fun project that ended up far different than this!
