Update: We're switching to the NIH approved design that uses 3 hole punched page protectors:

In case you’ve been living under a rock, there’s a pandemic going on. There’s been a lot of information floating around about how we as a maker community can help. Some of it is good, some of it is not so good.

We’re not 3d printing masks - those are best sewn right now.

We *are* 3D printing face shields out of PLA filament. Our local Banner Health said they would take them. They wipe everything down with an antiviral.

I love our medical teams, they’ve saved my life once before. I’m going to do whatever I can to return the favour. I’m passing on this information so you can help out, too.

We’ll only be able to get through this if we work together. (6+ ft apart 😁)

And I have a shopping list for parts here:

We can get about 18 masks per roll of filament.

and I are expanding! The new addition to our fleet is set up and already working hard. It runs a lot like the PrintrBots I used to use at ye ol’ TechShop, but with the added benefit of a climate controlled (and fire proof) enclosure. Build space is 220mm x 220mm x 250mm (roughly 8.7” x 8.7” x 9.8”), so we can also do significantly larger prints.

- Running out of materials, but slowly but surely assembling what I’ve cut in the past couple days. We moved The Lab back into the house so it’s kind of novel to be able to watch the laser and work where there’s air conditioning again.

See you at Game On Expo!
