β›ˆοΈπŸŒ΅ Arizona monsoon season is here, and storms can send even the calmest pets into panic mode.

A few simple precautions can help keep your furry family members safe:
🐾 Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🐾 Check gates, fences, and doors before storms roll in.
🐾 Keep pets indoors during severe weather.
🐾 Always use a secure leash and properly fitted collar or harness when outside.
🐾 Create a safe, comfortable space where they can ride out the storm.

Every monsoon season, pets go missing after becoming frightened by thunder, lightning, dust storms, and high winds. A little preparation today could prevent a heartbreaking search tomorrow. ❀️

Remembering Ginger II on her Birthday.
It is with much sadness that we remember pretty Ginger on this June 18, 2026, who would have been 12 years old today. We lost our beloved Ginger unexpectedly on April 17, after she declined rapidly from an undiagnosed kidney condition. When she came to the KTN Sanctuary back in January 2024 with her housemate Omar, 2 indoor semi-feral cats whose owner passed away, it was assumed they’d be with us for many years. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis back in the fall of 2024, which she seemed to be managing fine taking her little pills in a special feeding most evenings. She was not easy to care for – not liking to be touched, much less handled, but she had a good appetite most of the time, making it easier to treat her as needed. I was just starting to make progress with her when I noticed she had lost weight. Her loss was a shock though since she showed no other symptoms of something being wrong. I miss seeing her in her usual spots and talking to her (even when she hissed at me), and am extremely sad that our time together was so short. RIP beautiful girl.

Thank you to the kind folks who've recently donated bags of food and litter to us!

June is Adopt A Cat Month! If adopting a kitten, please consider adopting two so they can have a friend for company!
