Leana Song is my passion project, blending Afro-Cuban Orisha songs with electronic, folk, and jazz elements. This second volume reimagines 19 traditional Orisha songs, highlighting Batá drums at the core. The result of thousands of hours in the studio and in the field, recording and shaping thousands of Mesmerizing Instruments and Sounds, This album truly showcases some of my best work as a producer. Not to mention, the featured artists are phenomenal. We have the legendary bassist Bakithi Kumalo Music, the brilliant pianist Orlando Enrique Fiol, the powerful Cuban singer Naivis Angarica, and the uber-talented saxophonist Maxfield Gast Plus, it’s an electronic fusion of the actual Oru Cantado, as performed in Havana and around the world for the Orishas.
