WELCOME TO BLACKBIRD HOLLOW releases Sept. 30.

Is everything terrifying and awful, and does the blithe indifference of too many people make me depersonalize so hard that I spiral? Yes!!! It actually fu***ng is!!!
But a small spot of light: I got to see my best friend in the entire world — which is no small feat when she lives halfway across the country from me. We made the most of a few hours together in Manhattan pre-Book Con and it probably added another two years to my life.
0/10 do not recommend not living next door to ur platonic soulmate, but 10/10 do recommend the NA Negroni at , ESPECIALLY if schedules line up and you get to drink it with the incredible too 🖤🖤🖤

The sun is shining! The trees are getting their leaves! The deer are eating my azaleas! AND I will be leaving my house simply for the sake of getting to see some of you lovely people IRL!
I have three upcoming events where I’ll be signing and slinging books, and it would mean the world to me to see you there! You can find more info in my pinned “books & news” post, but please don’t hesitate to hit the comment section if you have any questions.
And if you’re wondering about a BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS release event … worry not. Keep thine eyes peeled.

If you know me and my work even a little, you know that music is a huge part of my process. No project is real until there’s a playlist!
For BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS, my Arthurian retelling, I thought it would be fun to create an annotated reading playlist just for you ❤️ If you’d like access to it—plus a special reader letter and the first three chapters—then all you have to do is preorder the book!!!! Easy peasy !!! Then next week, fun cool digital stuff will arrive in ur mailbox (from me, of course.)
BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS is an ambitious Arthurian retelling for fans of MORGAN IS MY NAME and THE GUINEVERE DECEPTION. A banished witch and a changeling knight must join forces if they want to survive what’s to come—and figure out what to do with their growing and deeply inconvenient attraction to each other.
Though BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS is a prequel to The Fatebound Duology, it can be read in either order, and you don’t need to have read the duology to enjoy BTRC. However, for optimal suffering, I do suggest digging into the duology first so I can properly torment you.

OH NO the big tall scary knight has fallen IMMEDIATELY for the short weird mean girl and simply CANNOT get back up!!!!
But get back up he must, as the entire fate of his people—the Fair Folk—rests on his shoulders. A weapon made, not a creature born, Sir Mordred Pendragon is a changeling embedded deeply in King Arthur’s court.
He has things mostly under control, but then Lady Nyneve Or’Afon shows up out of the blue. If a prophecy didn’t doom Mordred a long time ago, he’d certainly be doomed now by her dagger-like smiles and sharp words and meadow eyes.
BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS arrives on May 19! Preorder ebooks and signed hardcovers directly from ur author (that’s me!) or grab it online at most major retailers a few weeks after its release date—if u can wait ;)

wake up, kiddos, a new way to yearn just dropped! if you’ve found yourself in wondering what I’m up to after I complete the Fated Quartet … well, there’s already a whole post about it with a playlist and a Pinterest board. just saying 👀
and look, I know everyone and their mother is starting one of these. yes, I need to make my career more sustainable as a disabled person. but also, yes—I want to do away with some of these platforms that feel more exploitative, that gleefully send my content into enemy territory for the sake of engagement and rage bait.
I want to let out a deep breath and actually feel safe to share cool things with u guys. I want to talk to you and yell about Arthurian legend and hear about your latest museum trip. and all of that is getting harder and harder to do on here.
so please, join me! link in the usual spot ❤️

A question every writer must ask themselves is, “how would the Pinterest girlies aesthecize my character?” I lack the arsenal of aesthetic pins, tumblr screenshots and edgy song lyrics, but alas, I give you my best hack at it here.
Were he to see this, Mordred would simply side-eye me, sigh, and go back to fixing his chainmail or grooming his war-horse or strangling the life out of someone or pining over Nyneve Or’Afon.
If this makes you go “oh hell yeah, I want this man to make me fall for him so he can choose someone else and break my heart,” then you should know 1) he is a faerie changeling embedded deep in King Arthur’s court, not a man at all and 2) you can meet him in BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS.
My Arthurian retelling is available to pre-order now! 🖤

If you find Sir Mordred Pendragon being held at the point of his own sword by Nyneve Or’Afon, do NOT try to save him. He is precisely where he wants to be.
Early eARCs of BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS have gone out to my street team AND the manuscript is with my lovely proofreader, so I’m celebrating with this gorgeous art by ❤️
Whether you’re being reunited with these characters or meeting them for the first time, I hope you’re excited for my darkly romantic Arthuriana retelling that releases on May 19! Though BETWEEN THE RIVAL COURTS is a prequel to the Fatebound Duology, these books can be read in either order. (For maximum suffering, though, read Fatebound first.)
MORE INFO: All Nyneve Or’Afon needs to do is prove herself to the Druid Elders. Then the young sorceress can go home—back to her magic and her studies, pursuing all the mysteries the world has to offer.
But there’s a rather large obstacle in her way: the handsome and cunning Sir Mordred Pendragon, knight of the Round Table and bastard son of King Arthur. From the very first moment they meet, he’s deeply suspicious of Nyneve. After all, Mordred knows exactly what an outsider with a secret looks like.
Because he is one—a faerie changeling embedded in King Arthur’s court, to be exact. And if anyone could uncover that dangerous truth, it’s the spellbinding sorceress who makes him weak in the knees … which means Mordred will do almost anything to get Nyneve out of Camelot.
But as war brews, a notorious sorcerer returns and an ancient god tests the walls of his prison, Mordred and Nyneve find their similarities growing into a dangerous attraction—and a necessary alliance if they have any chance of surviving what’s to come.
Perfect for fans of My Name is Morgan and The Guinevere Deception, Between the Rival Courts is a sweeping medieval fantasy about conquest, religion, power, and perhaps the deadliest of them all: relentless, unyielding love.
