Last week my office set up at Rydal Park for pop up "Septa Senior ID Sign Up" hours and it was a great success! They were happy to connect with the many residents who came by the table. This week they're setting up at our usual mobile office hours at the Upper Dublin Public Library on Thursday from 10am-12pm. Feel free to stop by and see them there!

⚠️ Montgomery County has issued a Code Red Air Quality Action Day for Thursday, July 16.

A Code Red Air Quality Action Day means air quality is unhealthy for everyone due to elevated levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from wildfire smoke. Children, older adults, and people with heart or lung conditions are especially at risk.

Please take steps to stay safe:
☑️ Limit time outdoors, especially strenuous activity
☑️ Keep outdoor activities short
☑️ Take more frequent breaks if you must be outside
☑️ Check on neighbors, especially older adults
☑️ Monitor air quality before heading outdoors

Help reduce air pollution by:
☑️ Limiting fire pit use
☑️ Reducing vehicle trips and avoiding engine idling
☑️ Refueling vehicles after dusk
☑️ Conserving electricity

The 2026/27 Pennsylvania budget has been passed by the PA State Legislature. This budget is about more than numbers, it’s about people. It’s about helping families afford everyday essentials, giving students every opportunity to succeed, supporting local businesses, and making our communities safer and stronger.

In the next few weeks I’ll be highlighting different takeaways from this year’s final document. First up: The 2026/27 budget invests in the people who have served our schools, communities, and have served our country over a lifetime.

Last Friday I had the honor of participating in the Upper Dublin Public Library's ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence. This well attended and beautifully orchestrated event by the library staff was even more impactful than I could have imagined. There was something about reading the words of this foundational document of our country right now in another pivotal time in our country's history that took my breath away. It was a meaningful reminder that we may not be a perfect country, but we should never stop trying to become one.
