Today as we celebrate the life of a man who fought for the rights of all people, let us not forget those who are still living without freedom. The Huffington Post reported that “Seventy-seven percent of victims in alleged human trafficking incidents reported in the U.S. were people of color”.

Dressember update: It’s day 8 and we’re feeling great! I (Kelsey) was thinking last night as I was getting ready to head to the library to work on a final that I would really rather not be wearing a dress to go study. But I saw a post by .suneson that reminded of the freedom that I have to make choices for myself today. At this moment, all around the world, there are girls who did not get to choose for themselves anything they would do today. There are girls just like me with dreams and goals that they may never have the chance to accomplish because they were forced into slavery. So today, I use my freedom of choice to wear my dress for them and be grateful for the opportunity I have to pursue my dreams.

Every December, thousands of woman across the world come together for a movement called Dressember. By wearing a dress everyday this month and posting on social media about the journey, the goal is to raise awareness and funds to support the missions of IJM and A21 to end modern slavery. We are powerful, we have a voice, and we are stronger together. We can . Follow us all month long for updates on the progress of the goal and to hear team member Michaela share her heart in the movement. For now, be empowered, be bold, be you. Be a part of the move.

It’s finally fall in Philly! Who’s just as excited as we are? Pull out the sweaters, stock up on cider, and take cheesy pictures with pumpkins. But also, watch out for our scarf line returning very soon. Stay warm Philly ✌🏼
