Standing on the beach yesterday morning after doing Tai Chi I watched the Ventnor beach patrols doing their practice rescues with a sense of pride. Talking with their captain he mentioned this particular day the guards were positioned not just on their stand. This was as if they were further back on the beach or maybe on a lunch break. But their efforts were intense, focused, and efficient . These practice "runs" prepare our lifeguards for the real thing. And race season starting very soon does the same thing.
