Update on the brown belted bumblebees in the bumblebox during this heat wave. They are fanning to keep cool.
A few parasitic wasps checking out the pollinators boxes. I find it fascinating that they are able to detect where developing larvae are. Because of them, I actually found other spots bees were nesting like an outdoor light fixture. The parasitic wasps are part of a healthy ecosystem, but if you have capped tubes in your boxes, you can remove them, place them in a shelter spot, mud side up to let the larvae stay on their pollen provisions, mimic outside temperature to help ensure their safety for the following season.
