The Day God Showed Me Why Someone Didn't Want Healing 06/10/2026

One day, someone reached out to me and asked for prayer, because they were struggling with serious health challenges. I was ready to pray, believing we were in agreement concerning their healing. As I began to pray, something unusual happened.

Who is guarding your gates?
What you see, hear, speak, think about and entertain influence the condition of your heart and the direction of your life. Not everything deserves access to your mind. Not every voice deserves your attention. Not every influence deserves a seat at your table. The enemy often seeks entry through unguarded gates (i.e. unchecked thoughts, unhealthy conversations, compromising entertainment, bitterness, offense, fear, etc). What enters repeatedly can eventually shape character, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors.
Guarding your gates is not about living in fear. It is about living with wisdom. It is choosing to protect what God is building within you and ensuring that your heart remains sensitive to His voice. A guarded heart creates space for God's peace, truth and presence to flourish. A guarded eye keep light in and darkness out. A guarded home keep unity in and contention out.

✅“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
✅“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes...” Psalm 101:3

Reflection Questions:
1. What am I allowing through my eye gates and ear gates on a daily basis?
2. Are there voices or influences that are weakening my walk with God?
3. What thoughts have I entertained that need to be replaced with God's truth?

Many believers want to witness the acts of God (i.e. His miracles, provision, power and blessings). However, God desires more than spectators of His acts. He desires people who understand His heart, His character and His ways. (See Exodus 19, Numbers 12)

Israel saw what God did, but Moses sought to know who God was. Acts reveal God’s power, but His ways reveal His nature. One can experience miracles and still not know Him deeply. Intimacy grows when we pursue understanding, obedience and relationship beyond what He can do for us.

The goal is not just to experience God occasionally, but to walk closely enough with Him to recognize His ways. Don't neglect intimacy with God in this dispensation.

“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.”
Psalm 103:7 (KJV)

"Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." Psalm 25:4-5 (NIV)

"The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend." Exodus 33:11 (NIV)

Reflection Questions:
1. Am I more focused on what God can do for me than on knowing Him deeply?
2. What does pursuing the ways of God look like in my daily life?
3. How has God been revealing His character to me in this season?

19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They IMMEDIATELY left their nets and followed Him."—Matthew 4:19-20 (NKJV)

Are you at the point of no return?
There comes a time in every believers faith journey when God call you beyond comfort, fear and familiarity. You know it. It's that call to come up higher and walk heavier. It is where you stop looking back and fully surrender to follow Jesus. When God calls, answer immediately. Why? Delayed obedience keep you bound, but surrendered obedience launches you into purpose.

The point of no return is not the point of destruction, it deliverance and redirection. It's the turning point where decisions are made to align yourself with God's purpose or keep doing what you've always done. It is the moment you decide you cannot go back to old mindset, old habits, old bo***ge or old life, because God has called you forth.

Ask yourself:
1. How would my life change if I obeyed God immediately?
2. Where is God calling me to trust Him without having all the details?
3. What is one step of surrender I can take today?

There is a voice greater than your past, louder than your pain and stronger than every accusation. The blood of Jesus still speaks better things over your life: mercy, redemption, healing, restoration and victory.

Ask yourself today:
1. What negative words or labels have I allowed to speak over my life?
2. What better things is God speaking over me today?

Now, align your own words with what Heaven is saying about you. Speak better over yourself and someone else today. 🥰

“and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than the blood of Abel.”
Hebrews 12:24
