On Jan. 22, 2026, the National Park Service removed the “Freedom and Slavery in Making a New Nation” exhibit at the President’s House historic site on 6th and Market Streets. This signage was installed in December 2010 to provide information about the nine enslaved people — Oney Judge, Hercules, Austen, Christopher Sheels, Giles, Joe, Moll, Paris, and Richmond — whom George Washington brought with him to Philadelphia in 1790.

Following Elon Musk’s launch of “Grok Spicy Mode” last summer and the AI image-editing feature, images on X now show photographs of women at various levels of undress.
As of early January 2026, Grok’s image generator and editing functions are limited to users who pay for premium features. This choice was criticized by many, who described it as the monetization of abuse rather than fixing core issues.
