dia siete de Guatemala: our second build day was tough! We were sore and tired but powered through mixing the concrete (a lot of it), wrapping up the foundation, pouring in the floor, and beginning to cut and install the wooden frame. The four of us along and our leader called ourselves “muy divertido” as we worked to keep smiles on our faces even though we were covered in sweat, concrete, and sawdust. A huge thank you for all those who donated to our trip in any way. The funds you provided purchased ALL the materials for the 3 houses our service team was able to build - from the cinder blocks, concrete, and wood all the way down to the nails and paint. This humble house will change lives.

Dia dos de Guatemala! Worked and played in the malnutrition center (Casa Jackson), took in all the beautiful tropical plant life, said hola to Cody (el perro), meals made with love from our host Janet, site visits with the families we will be building homes for, served cena at the homeless shelter, and rounded out the day with well earned margaritas and flights at . We’ve been experiencing so much gratitude and love from children and families with so little. The level of kindness and endless amounts of smiles has brought a feeling of home and of purpose.
