I have updated my cover photo to highlight a side trip to Waldshut, Germany in February 2020. My own family research led me to discover my 3x great grandmother was born here. I remember the excitement when I was in the Philadelphia Archives and on her marriage record her place of birth was listed. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever visit, but there I was. It was a beautiful, small, quaint town where everyone knew everyone in the town. Talking to one store owner, I discovered there was a woman living in the town with the same surname as my 3x great grandmother that she knew. She gave me her address, I went to her house, but she was very old and afraid to come to the door. I spoke with her neighbor and she agreed to wave to me from her window. It was a very sweet gesture. I hope to go back again and spend more time.
