Sometimes, one experience can shape an entire career. For Dr. Sandra Taketoshi, it was her childhood dachshund, Gahdhi. After suddenly becoming paralyzed, he underwent spinal surgery, and the compassion and care shown by his veterinary team left a lasting impression that would shape her future.

Today, Dr. Taketoshi brings that same level of empathy and dedication to every patient she sees. We are proud to welcome her to the team at Animal & Bird Health Care Center & Hospital! 🐾

A graduate of the University of Florida, she has trained alongside renowned leaders in avian medicine and brings a special passion for caring for exotic pets, especially birds. She is excited to expand access to quality care for avian patients and support pet owners with thoughtful, personalized medicine.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Taketoshi enjoys pickleball, movies, and exploring new cuisines, and she gives back through her work with Cape Atlantic Cats and Asbury Road Rescue.
