THEY SAY/I HEAR: New Parent Edition

Having a baby means-whether you’ve asked for it or not-you’ll likely be getting some opinions from others. And sometimes these opinions and suggestions don’t line up with our own values. Sometimes we need to filter these comments through your own lens. So when they say “she’s so spoiled”, you can take that as a compliment.

This holiday season, remember that the images you see on social media are just snapshots of the highlights. If you’re struggling to feel like you need to get your space together before you can enjoy the company of your friends and family, challenge yourself to consider otherwise. No one will remember the dust bunnies in the corner, the pile on the steps, or the dishes in the sink. They WILL remember decorating cookies together, laughing over a game of cards, and partaking in traditions. If you choose to clean, do it for the sake of your well being, not at the expense of making connections and memories.
