I’m participating in a songwriting challenge and I need you to challenge me!
I’m raffling off chances for folks to suggest topics for a new original song ($1 per suggestion- you can venmo me at . Just put the topic suggestion right in the comments of the payment). At the end of the week I’ll be drawing a winning topic and will begin writing a new song to be released as a demo exclusively on a BnB Short Stack EP via Bandcamp. 100% of proceeds both from the raffle and sale of the EP will benefit Books & Breakfast (BnB) by Urban G.R.A.C.E. Social.
Books & Breakfast (BnB) by Urban G.R.A.C.E. Social, co-sponsored by Turning Point United Methodist Church in Trenton, NJ, is a weekly event that holds space for members of the community to gather over a hot meal, access a library of donated books and for black community leaders to organize. In response to the pandemic, a “to-go” model was adopted, and on average between 250 and 300 meals are distributed each week, along with PPE and other resources. The weekly cost of each breakfast is around $500. 100% of the BnB Short Stack Songwriting Challenge proceeds will benefit Books & Breakfast.
It's been a bit, but for your listening pleasure I present a new recording. Originally written in 2005, but a good song nonetheless. I added a mandolin during the chorus and a little mandolin solo. I only started learning the instrument, so listener beware.
