People managing chaotic substance use or a substance use disorder don’t wear labels. They are our coworkers, friends, siblings, parents, neighbors, partners, and the people we see every day without realizing what they may be struggling with.
It’s estimated that 1 in 6 people meet criteria for a substance use disorder at some point during a given year. Most don’t fit the stereotypes people imagine.
Sometimes it looks like drinking alone most nights. Sometimes it looks like taking a family member’s pain medication. Sometimes it looks like trying to hold everything together while quietly struggling.
The point is: people don't wear labels identifying their struggles. Treat others with compassion, fight stigma & raise awareness.
What are you doing tomorrow night? Unless you got some fancy plans, in which case have fun and send pics 😉 come hangout with us at our office in Kensington and help make kits!
Come for the free pizza, stay for friends and entertainment ✌️💜
